This is an old stock Shooting Head, built for older fly rods. However if used on a modern rod this shooting head would be suitable for a 10wt rod.
The Rio Coldwater Series Shooting Head is built for Cold Saltwater environments, but can be used in freshwater too.

Front-loaded weight distribution quickly loads a rod, while the unique step-down taper at the back allows long flight times and easy distance. The shooting head is built to the AFTM standard to and Rio recommends that casters step up to sizes in this fly line for modern rods. EasyID loop at the back end ensures quick recognition. RIO recommends attaching 0.024/0.026 shooting line, or 25 lb.
