Dear [FIRSTNAME]

FISHING REPORT

Gavin jetted off to the Solomon Islands yesterday with the first of our fly fishing adventure groups... before he left he gave me this report about what he has found on the water over the past few weeks.

Our winter fishery is in full swing here on the Sunshine Coast, so don't let a few chilly mornings put you off. There are plenty of species out there to fly fish for at this time of year, and with the clear, calm conditions we have been having you really don't have an excuse!

FLY TYING PATTERN

Eric from Townsville phoned us to request a pattern for the Dahlberg Diver... so just for Eric here it is:

Whether you are after Bass, Saratoga or Barramundi - these are a great fly to have in your box.

If there are any fly tying patterns that you are chasing, let us know and we will track them down for you.

FLY TYING SCHOOL

We have had loads of you asking when we are starting off the fly tying classes again. With Gavin away for most of this month, we have set down Saturday, 19th September 2009 as the day.

I'll have more details for you next week, but I just wanted to let you all know the date as we are limiting this hands-on school to just six participants.

LEARN TO FLY FISH DAY

Our "Introduction to Fly Fishing" school is designed with the beginner in mind and is a must for anyone starting out in this fabulous sport. After completing this day you will be well equipped to venture out fly fishing on your own.

The next clinic will be run on Saturday, 26th September 2009.

These schools are limited to only six participants, and it is already half full - so contact us now if you are interested in attending.

PRODUCT UPDATE

For any of you fly tyers out there who use epoxy - there is an interesting new product to hit the market in Australia.

It's called Tuffleye, and has been personally endorsed by the famous fly tyer, Bob Popovics. Here is what he has to say:

"I have searched for years to find a material that outperforms epoxy in all facets, but unfortunately, every alternative was deficient in some critical area. I am pleased and excited to tell you I have finally found a material I can honestly say surpasses epoxy.”
Bob Popovics

Gavin and Rod have been playing around with it and so far are quite impressed. They are putting together some tying patterns and instructions on how to get the best out of this material. I'll have this ready for you in the next few weeks, so look out for it in a future newsletter.

Have a great weekend everyone...
Cheers
Jude
