ANZAC Day – Saturday, 25th April 2009

Just a reminder to all that we are not open tomorrow, Anzac Day, out of respect to our diggers – past and present. We will re-open on Monday, 27th April 2009 at 9:00am.

Since Gavin’s son, Michael, joined the army about three years ago, Anzac Day has taken on a whole new meaning for us.

Fly Fishing Report

Since last weekends Longtail Tuna Chase, the high winds and big swells have prevented us from chasing the tuna that we know are out there just offshore! Very frustrating indeed!

Gavin Platz has guided a few clients at Borumba Dam this week. The dam is full so he wasn't too sure what to expect.

Weipa - Cape York

Due to a cancellation, we now have two places left on our mothership trip to Cape York from 23rd to 29th May 2009.

This trip is specifically for fly fisherman - we have secured the services of professional, experienced fly fishing guides Dave Bradley and Nat Bromhead to partner with our own Gavin Platz on this trip.  

The Cape has had its biggest wet in years, and it could mean that there will be the hottest fishing they have had in years too... We have had reports of Barramundi being caught right off the beach.

This is one of Gavin's favourite destinations and he can't wait to get back there to check it out!
